Event synopsis

Policy in Practice and Northern Housing Consortium host this important event to bring Westminster policy makers together with northern organisations.

Join central government speakers and local influencers in Leeds for our free one day workshop to exclusively hear the latest policy updates on Universal Credit managed migration from DWP and homelessness prevention from MHCLG. Help create a united voice of influence for people and practitioners in the north.

Attendees will:

  • Hear from central government about policy updates and plans
  • Contribute experiences in order to influence central government
  • Learn from the experiences of trailblazing organisations in the North
  • Network and benchmark with like minded peers

Who should attend?

Senior decision makers, elected representatives and team leaders charged with supporting vulnerable people and tackling homelessness should attend. The outputs from the table discussions will form a white paper that will be presented to DWP and MHCLG.

We believe the welfare system can work more effectively.

It can help people towards greater independence if we make it simple for people and organisations to understand.

We simplify the welfare system by showing people how policy affects them.

We show local authorities how individual households are affected by all policy changes, now and in the future.

We talk to government on a national level to influence policy.
